Superlatives escape me, what a great Christmas/Break-Up party. Fabulous way to finish a very different square dance year. We had 35 Dancers and 3 Callers for the the Evening. We started the Plus with 3 squares and carried those into the Mainstream portion of the night. Heather P. won the members draw. Thanks to Elaine D. & David P. for their calls, it helped make the night so interesting. Thank you to all the dancers who brought a plate, there was certainly no shortage of food. Thanks Faith, for organising the Supper food. Everyone looked great in their Christmas outfits. I do want to make sure that you all know how much Rosalie & I appreciate the support all the dancers have for the club. We want to wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year, we hope to see all your smiling faces on the first Thursday in February (3rd). Some of you, we'll see at other Christmas functions in coming weeks. See the pics for the fun that was had.
Special thanks to Mike for doing the door each week, it is much appreciated.

Considering the inclement weather, I was so pleasantly suprised with the turn-out last night.
It was a great dance night (yeah, I sound like broken record).
29 Dancers in the hall, we danced 3 squares most of the night through Plus & Mainstream.
Great to have David & Faith with us - Faith is still not dancing, but soon!
We had Denice with us for the first time this year. Also good to see Arthur, Ray and Graham again.
I can't believe Russell W. came up in the members draw again, that's the 3rd time between 2 clubs in 2 weeks.
Did a few requests throughout the evening, had a request for Ghost Riders in the Sky, everyone "Yippee I ayed" along - finished with Beautiful Noise & Pretty Woman (also requests).
Next weeks is our last night for the year. Please bring a plate and wear your favourite Christmas outfit. Unfortunately, I've already had a couple of apologies due to conflicting Christmas functions, but I'm sure we'll have a fabulous time.

It's amazing what happens when the Weather Gods smile on us. What a great night for dancing.
35 dancers in the hall, we started the Plus with 3 squares and continued into the Mainstream dancing 3 squares most of the time. It was great to see Ray & Arthur back with us. Also good to see Judith visiting.
Jim won the members draw. Did a couple of new songs, also some random picks and requests, as well as some favourites. Next thing, I looked at my watch and we were at the last bracket.
Thanks everyone for a wonderful night. 2 more to go for the year. 2nd of December for our break-up night.
I'm even hoping Rosalie will make it.

The dancers that did show up were in Sou'westers, full length Raincoats and Gum Boots.
They were all tethered to each other so they didn't blow away.
But seriously, it was a little wet, but not as bad as that, it was hot & humid as well.
We had exactly 16 dancers and we danced 2 squares, all except for 1 x 6 couple Rectangle bracket.
Heather P. won the members draw. I did a couple of requests and we did finish about 10 minutes early, because most had danced every bracket and were a little tired. There are only 3 dance nights left in the year.
The 2nd of December is our Christmas party & break-up.
Wear your favourite Christmas outfit and please bring a plate, there will be tea & coffee. I'll provide the Christmas Carols.

What a night at Northside. 33 dancers + 3 non-dancing members in the hall.
Started Plus with 3 squares - Started and Finished Mainstream with 3 squares - a few brackets in the middle were 2 squares. Still, there were a few apologies. Heaps of song requests.
Played with Reverse Dixie Style to a Wave, it went pretty well.
Elaine would have won the members draw, but alas, it jackpots. Thanks everyone, for a great night.
There are only 4 more dance nights at Northside this year. On the 2nd of December, please bring a plate.
Dress in your favourite Christmas gear and we'll "carol" the night away.
P.S. Our thoughts are with Patricia & Lawrie with Lawrie having to go back to hospital again.

Fabulous night at Northside last night. Very hot, but better than thunderstorms and rain. 30 people in the hall. Started the night with 3 squares of Plus.
We danced 3 squares of Mainstream for the first half of the evening and then 2 for the rest.
Good to see Robyn back on the dance floor - congratulations on your retirement - more than 53 years with RACQ. Also good to see Rod & Margaret back with us, as well as Sue - good to have you back.
Viv won the members draw.Only 5 weeks until our Christmas Party /break up dance. There will be a supper that night. Dress in your favourite Christmas gear and please bring a plate.
We'll bring the tea & coffee (Qld health has changed the rules on shared food).
Only 15 days until the Society Christmas Party at Burpengary.

You gotta love Qld. weather. Clear all day, rain & storm just as people are thinking about going dancing, then stop raining just after they decided to stay home. Having said that, we still had 20 people in the hall.
We did dance 2 squares, for all the Plus and all but the last bracket of Mainstream.
Chris would have won the members draw, but alas, it jackpots for next week.
I did a few dancer favourites,"Sweet Caroline" & "Beautiful Noise",I'm no Neil Diamond, but they went over well. Also "A friend like Me", great song, finished with "Jungle to the Zoo".
Our last night for the year is in 6 weeks (2nd December).
Christmas theme, we will have supper that night , so please dress for the season & bring a plate.
Qld. Health have recently changed the restrictions to allow for shared food & drink.

Square dancing recommenced at Northside. Qld. Health has reverted to level 3 covid restrictions again.
We've had bigger nights at Northside, but it certainly was a lot of fun. 20 dancers in the hall. We started with 1 square for Plus, but it grew to 2. Mainstream was 2 squares all night. I did have 14 apologies - illness, away on holidays, been working too hard all day, been out travelling all day, etc. etc., Sorry you missed a great night. Not sure how much the threatening weather had to do with numbers, but it held off until very late, well after the dance. Great to have Fay & Teresa joining us the last few weeks. Did a few requests and some new tunes.
Barry won the members draw. It was even quite warm in the hall - actually had the fans going.
Society Christmas party is coming up quickly - 13th November at the Burpengary Community hall 7pm for Plus, then Mainstream at 7.30pm. Our last night of the year will be 2nd December.
We will celebrate with Christmas tunes and hopefully we'll all wear our favourite Christmas costumes, but not our usual, raffles and supper (you know why).

So enjoying our dance nights at Northside.
Exactly 24 dancers through the door, we did dance 3 squares just the once.
Thanks Mike, for coming along to do the door even though Di wasn't dancing.
Quite a few away for various reasons, we hope all goes well for those with health and family commitments. Elaine would have won the members draw last night had she been there.
Amazing what songs come up when the dancers pick them by letter and number - I hadn't called "Elvira" in years. Did my newest release "Oh Carol" by the band Smokie.
We are grateful to all those who choose to dance with us during what have been some testing times.
Only a couple of weeks until Gary's Shindig at Gympie - quite a few members are going.

What a great night at Northside Promenaders.
30 people through the door. Started dancing Plus 20 minutes early, with 3 squares on the flooor.
Many from the Southside and plenty from Caboolture as well as our regulars.
Danced 3 squares at Mainstream too, for the majority of the night, down to 2 for the latter part of the evening.
Great to have Elaine & Rob with us and of course, I had Elaine on stage for a few calls.
It was also Elaine's birthday, glad she chose to celebrate with us.
Sharyn won the members draw, even though it wasn't a huge amount.
Finished the night with a request bracket of 3 Singing Calls.
Even though we are required to wear masks, the enjoyment is outweighing the inconvenience.
Thank you Northsiders, for such a fun night.

Great night at Northside last night.
Yes, we were in masks, but it didn't stop the fun.
25 dancers - we did dance 3 squares just the once, but 2 for the rest of the night. Sure, some of us (incl. me) were a little rusty, but on the whole, pretty good. Great to see everybody though, we've all been missing the activity and our friends. Sorry that some couldn't make it last night, but we hope to see more of you next week. Faith won the $10 members draw, it's back to $5 next week.

Due to cloud cover, it was a bit warmer last night, the dancers even turned off the heaters.
Fantastic night, thoroughly enjoyed myself.
29 dancers in the hall. Plus was 2 squares - Mainstream started and finished with 3 squares - we did dance 3 squares modst of the night. Members draw will jackpot again to $10 next week.
The dancers helped me work through a figure that my Computer won't do.
Did some random choice Singing Calls and finished the night with a couple of requests "Waltzing Matilda" and "Pretty Woman". Many wonderful comments from the dancers about the night.

Another great night at Northside Promenaders. A few people away sick and a few travelling. Still we had 28 dancers through the door. Danced 2 squares for Plus and occasionally 3 for Mainstream, but mostly 2.
Great to have Sheryl & Natasha back with us after a haitus for a few years, they hadn't forgotten too much.
Jim won the $20 members draw jackpot, so it's back to $5 next week.
Had a practice of my upcoming new release "Music in my Heart".
Finished the night with a couple of Singalongs - "One last Kiss" & "Down in the Boondocks".
Remember, we are Not Dancing on the 12th August due to the QCA 39th State Convention in Hervey Bay.

OMG, was it cold. I got there early, closed all the doors and turned the heaters on. That made it reasonable.
21 people in the hall, we danced 2 squares for Plus and 2 all night for Mainstream.
Did a new song that I'm working on, for a vocal recording release.
A Charley Pride song from 2017, he passed late last year due to Covid complications.
The members draw jackpots again, now $20.
Near the end of the night, (what appeared to be) a homeless guy decided it was warmer inside our hall than out. Normally, I wouldn't mind a random spectator, but we can't have unknown people with covid rules, so I had to nicely usher him out. Thanks to all those dancers and Mike for braving the cold to come out and dance.
It's a little ways into the future, but remember: NO DANCING on 12th of August, due to the State Convention.

Wet & cold but still a good night, with numbers a little down.
22 people in the hall, 2 squares for Plus and 2 all night for Mainstream.
Good to see Faith back on the Dance floor.
Played a little with "Head Man and his Corner girl" up to the middle & back. Did a few requests.
The members draw did not go off again, it jackpots to $15 next week.
Finished the night with a little Roy Orbison - Pretty Woman.

29 dancers in the hall. Eventually 2 squares for Plus.
Started and finished the Mainstream with 3 squares, mostly 2 throughout the night.
Did quite a few classic square dances, Louisiana Man, New Attitude & Neutron Dance.
Thanks to Mike for taking care of the door, always nice to see his smiling face.
Elaine wasn't there to win the members draw, so it jackpots for next week.

Wasn't it a cold night? Quite a few apologies, but there were still 26 dancers in the hall.
2 squares for Plus and we started with 3 for Mainstream, but settled to 2 for the rest of the night.
Did a few Random pick songs and a couple of requests.

Well, if you weren't there, I'm sorry - you missed a fabulous night. The hall was buzzing with 36 dancers.
Plus started with 1 square but quickly grew to 3. Mainstream started with 4 squares, then 3 a lot of the time.
3 new club members received their badges, welcome Chris, Margie & Freda.
Our members draw did not go off again, it will jackpot for next week.
Finished the night with "That's Amore" and "Goodnight Sweetheart".

I did quite a few random choice songs.
Interestingly I was asked again for K3 which is "King of the Road", I just did a different version on another label. Di won the members drawer, so it's back to $5 next week.

We had a workshop on Dixie Style & Reverse Dixie style.

Not enough superlatives for how good last night was. Great crowd and slightly cooler weather. 28 people through the door, started Plus with 2 squares. Mainstream started and finished with 3 squares. There were a few apologies for various reasons, we already have a couple of apologies for next week.
Tried out a new song - Don't it make you wanna go Home - a tribute to Jerry Story.
Great to have Gloria back with us after 15 months - been unable to dance with us due to covid rules elsewhere. Our members draw didn't go off, so it will jackpot.
Sue had a call, we are working out the kinks in a particular singing call.
Finished the night with a Neil Diamond classic - Sweet Caroline. Fabulous night!!!!

Northside is going strong. 27 Dancers last night, we did dance 3 squares early in the evening.
The Plus dancers were quite enthusiastic, starting more than 15 minutes early.
I figure if they are there and they want to dance, who am I to say No?
The members draw jackpots to $10 next week.
Carol O. has danced on & off with us over the years, she has just become our latest club member, wearing her badge for the first time last night.
I did a few random song picks and some dancer requests. Great to have Helen H. from Toowoomba with us.

Another great night at Northside. Enthusiastic dancers started Plus 10 minutes early.
The weather was much more conducive to dancing, a few degrees cooler.
31 people through the dooor, we did dance 3 squares quite a bit of the time.
Great to have Pat & Lawrie with us for the first time this year. Mike was on the door for the first time this year. Sue is still working on her calls, she's doing fine.
Got requests for some real oldies, "Riverboat" and "Redwing".
So Yes, we walked through "Dip & Dive".
I was having such a good time, I lost track of the night and we ended up going over time.

Great to have Lyndel back after her recent car accident.
Carole from Alderley has been with us the last 2 weeks.
Faith still doing the door until Rosalie is a bit better, thanks Faith.
Worked on some Cast-Off 3/4 figures and some LH Spin Chain Thrus, all went well.
Finished the night with a couple of Chapparal classics:
"Rockin' in Rosalie's Boat" and "Something about you baby, I Like".
Really enjoying being back, and Autumn is coming, cooler weather will be nice.

So enjoying being back. The weather yesterday was so weird.
Bucketing down one minute and bright sunshine the next. Very warm and humid.

Still a number of apologies due to illness. Lyndel sent her apologies, she was involved in a bingle in her car.
I should clarify, someone ran into her while she was stopped. Nothing broken, but very sore.

We danced 3 squares for a lot of the night.
We welcome a new member Neil, he was with us last week but has decided to become a member.
Great to see Glenys and Sue M. last night. Sue will be doing a bit of calling in coming weeks.
Viv had a birthday yesterday, still came dancing after her family celebration.
Elsa won the members draw. I tried out a few new Songs & Hoedown tunes.

Even though we are required to wear masks, the enjoyment is outweighing the inconvenience.

Great night at Northside last night.
Yes, we were in masks, but it didn't stop the fun.
25 dancers - we did dance 3 squares just the once, but 2 for the rest of the night. Sure, some of us (incl. me) were a little rusty, but on the whole, pretty good. Great to see everybody though, we've all been missing the activity and our friends. Sorry that some couldn't make it last night, but we hope to see more of you next week. Faith won the $10 members draw, it's back to $5 next week.

Due to cloud cover, it was a bit warmer last night, the dancers even turned off the heaters.
Fantastic night, thoroughly enjoyed myself.
29 dancers in the hall. Plus was 2 squares - Mainstream started and finished with 3 squares - we did dance 3 squares modst of the night. Members draw will jackpot again to $10 next week.
The dancers helped me work through a figure that my Computer won't do.
Did some random choice Singing Calls and finished the night with a couple of requests "Waltzing Matilda" and "Pretty Woman". Many wonderful comments from the dancers about the night.

Another great night at Northside Promenaders. A few people away sick and a few travelling. Still we had 28 dancers through the door. Danced 2 squares for Plus and occasionally 3 for Mainstream, but mostly 2.
Great to have Sheryl & Natasha back with us after a haitus for a few years, they hadn't forgotten too much.
Jim won the $20 members draw jackpot, so it's back to $5 next week.
Had a practice of my upcoming new release "Music in my Heart".
Finished the night with a couple of Singalongs - "One last Kiss" & "Down in the Boondocks".
Remember, we are Not Dancing on the 12th August due to the QCA 39th State Convention in Hervey Bay.

OMG, was it cold. I got there early, closed all the doors and turned the heaters on. That made it reasonable.
21 people in the hall, we danced 2 squares for Plus and 2 all night for Mainstream.
Did a new song that I'm working on, for a vocal recording release.
A Charley Pride song from 2017, he passed late last year due to Covid complications.
The members draw jackpots again, now $20.
Near the end of the night, (what appeared to be) a homeless guy decided it was warmer inside our hall than out. Normally, I wouldn't mind a random spectator, but we can't have unknown people with covid rules, so I had to nicely usher him out. Thanks to all those dancers and Mike for braving the cold to come out and dance.
It's a little ways into the future, but remember: NO DANCING on 12th of August, due to the State Convention.

Wet & cold but still a good night, with numbers a little down.
22 people in the hall, 2 squares for Plus and 2 all night for Mainstream.
Good to see Faith back on the Dance floor.
Played a little with "Head Man and his Corner girl" up to the middle & back. Did a few requests.
The members draw did not go off again, it jackpots to $15 next week.
Finished the night with a little Roy Orbison - Pretty Woman.

29 dancers in the hall. Eventually 2 squares for Plus.
Started and finished the Mainstream with 3 squares, mostly 2 throughout the night.
Did quite a few classic square dances, Louisiana Man, New Attitude & Neutron Dance.
Thanks to Mike for taking care of the door, always nice to see his smiling face.
Elaine wasn't there to win the members draw, so it jackpots for next week.

Wasn't it a cold night? Quite a few apologies, but there were still 26 dancers in the hall.
2 squares for Plus and we started with 3 for Mainstream, but settled to 2 for the rest of the night.
Did a few Random pick songs and a couple of requests.

Well, if you weren't there, I'm sorry - you missed a fabulous night. The hall was buzzing with 36 dancers.
Plus started with 1 square but quickly grew to 3. Mainstream started with 4 squares, then 3 a lot of the time.
3 new club members received their badges, welcome Chris, Margie & Freda.
Our members draw did not go off again, it will jackpot for next week.
Finished the night with "That's Amore" and "Goodnight Sweetheart".

I did quite a few random choice songs.
Interestingly I was asked again for K3 which is "King of the Road", I just did a different version on another label. Di won the members drawer, so it's back to $5 next week.

Thoroughly enjoyable night. 28 people in the hall, 25 dancing
We eventually had 2 squares for Plus and we started Mainstream with 3, but danced 2 the rest of the night.
Great to have Elaine & Rob Davis with us.
Of course, Elaine gave us a few calls - and we did the last bracket together.
Tried out a new song - "Sweet home Alabama" - just awesome.
Still practising my new song - "The more I see You" - planning to record the vocal this weekend.

Quite humid after recent rains, but a good night none the less. 25 people in the hall.

Really good to have Chris H. back at dancing and doing well.
Tried out a couple of new songs and did a few requests.
We had a workshop on Dixie Style & Reverse Dixie style.

Not enough superlatives for how good last night was. Great crowd and slightly cooler weather. 28 people through the door, started Plus with 2 squares. Mainstream started and finished with 3 squares. There were a few apologies for various reasons, we already have a couple of apologies for next week.
Tried out a new song - Don't it make you wanna go Home - a tribute to Jerry Story.
Great to have Gloria back with us after 15 months - been unable to dance with us due to covid rules elsewhere. Our members draw didn't go off, so it will jackpot.
Sue had a call, we are working out the kinks in a particular singing call.
Finished the night with a Neil Diamond classic - Sweet Caroline. Fabulous night!!!!

Northside is going strong. 27 Dancers last night, we did dance 3 squares early in the evening.
The Plus dancers were quite enthusiastic, starting more than 15 minutes early.
I figure if they are there and they want to dance, who am I to say No?
The members draw jackpots to $10 next week.
Carol O. has danced on & off with us over the years, she has just become our latest club member, wearing her badge for the first time last night.
I did a few random song picks and some dancer requests. Great to have Helen H. from Toowoomba with us.

Another great night at Northside. Enthusiastic dancers started Plus 10 minutes early.
The weather was much more conducive to dancing, a few degrees cooler.
31 people through the dooor, we did dance 3 squares quite a bit of the time.
Great to have Pat & Lawrie with us for the first time this year. Mike was on the door for the first time this year. Sue is still working on her calls, she's doing fine.
Got requests for some real oldies, "Riverboat" and "Redwing".
So Yes, we walked through "Dip & Dive".
I was having such a good time, I lost track of the night and we ended up going over time.

What a night. Yes, very hot and humid, but a lot of fun.
30 people through the door. We started and finished the night with 3 squares.
Sue called a bracket, did well and we'll hear her again next week.
Great to have Lyndel back after her recent car accident.
Carole from Alderley has been with us the last 2 weeks.
Faith still doing the door until Rosalie is a bit better, thanks Faith.
Worked on some Cast-Off 3/4 figures and some LH Spin Chain Thrus, all went well.
Finished the night with a couple of Chapparal classics:
"Rockin' in Rosalie's Boat" and "Something about you baby, I Like".
Really enjoying being back, and Autumn is coming, cooler weather will be nice.

So enjoying being back. The weather yesterday was so weird.
Bucketing down one minute and bright sunshine the next. Very warm and humid.

Still a number of apologies due to illness. Lyndel sent her apologies, she was involved in a bingle in her car.
I should clarify, someone ran into her while she was stopped. Nothing broken, but very sore.

Another great night at Northside. 30 dancers through the door + 3 partners not dancing for medical reasons.
We danced 3 squares for a lot of the night.
We welcome a new member Neil, he was with us last week but has decided to become a member.
Great to see Glenys and Sue M. last night. Sue will be doing a bit of calling in coming weeks.
Viv had a birthday yesterday, still came dancing after her family celebration.
Elsa won the members draw. I tried out a few new Songs & Hoedown tunes.
Thanks to Faith for doing the door, Rosalie was not well.

It was our first night back - 329 nights since we last danced.
